(KRON) -- A teenager was arrested on suspicion of murder Tuesday evening in connection to the death of Luis "Luigi" Ramirez, 33, of San Pablo, police said.
Detectives identified Jose Jesus Cornelio-Aguirre, 18, of San Pablo, as a prime suspect after "receiving an outpouring of cooperation, support, and information from the community," police officials wrote.
Ramirez was found shot to death inside a red Toyota car that was parked in a residential neighborhood on 16th Street just before 2:30 p.m. on October 25.
"Based on the preliminary investigation, detectives believe the victim and suspect were known acquaintances, and that the victim was shot during the early-morning hours on Sunday, October 25th following an altercation with the suspect," the San Pablo Police Department wrote.
Within 48 hours of finding the victim's body, detectives tracked down Cornelio-Aguirre and took the teen into custody.
Following his arrest, Cornelio-Aguirre was booked into Martinez Detention Facility jail. Police officials have not released a suspected motive.
Ramirez's death was the second homicide in San Pablo in 2026.
